Build your confidence with plenty of hands on teaching experience under that careful guidance of a Senior Instructor, Lia Suzuki Sensei.

Develop an understanding of exactly how to teach, using basic teaching techniques. And learn why these techniques work.

Gain valuable knowledge and insights into Aikido, taking your own training to a whole new level!

Teaching Theory & Technique

Gain insight into the how’s and why’s of different teaching techniques. These sessions allow students to study the theory of teaching in general and Aikido in particular. Under the guidance of a more experienced instructor, we will explore what works and what doesn’t and why.

Teaching Practicum

You’ll regularly have the opportunity to put your teaching theory into practice!

When the Senior Instructor feels you’re ready, we start by having you get on the mat in the capacity of Assistant Instructor. There will always be time set aside later to review the class.

Once again, when we feel that you’re ready, you’ll run an entire class by yourself – of course under the watchful eye of the Senior Instructor.

Dojo Business & Management

You’ll get first-hand experience in various business aspects of running a dojo. Learn practical skills in marketing, branding, and management to ensure your future dojo’s success.

First Aid Training

As part of your Teacher Training, you’ll receive Basic First Aid training from a certified instructor. Gain confidence, knowing that you’ll be able to handle emergencies properly.

What Others Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our dojo members & alumni do the talking!

“I completed Teacher Training Level 1 with Lia Suzuki Sensei in Jan 2016. It was a valuable training that prepared me thoroughly for teaching my own classes. The course included practical teaching time with children, teens and adults which included feedback sessions to review teaching methodology and learning.

I also got to see all aspects of dojo operation and learn how to manage a dojo efficiently with the use of technology. And I found the opportunity to work closely with a 6th Dan AKI teacher and learn more about AKI aikido and philosophy a great experience.

Highly recommended if you want to accelerate your path into teaching.”
